Question 1

What is Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Mojo Media is a commercial video production marketplace that connects businesses with vetted directors, producers, and production companies. Companies post structured project briefs with budgets and timelines; creators browse open jobs, submit scoped bids, and deliver TV spots, branded content, corporate video, and related formats through one workflow.

Question 2

Who is Mojo Media for?

Accepted Answer

Mojo Media serves two sides of every shoot: businesses and marketers who need commercial-quality video, and creative professionals, directors, producers, DP's, and production companies, who want paid commercial work without cold outreach. If you need video produced or you create video for hire, the platform is built for you.

Question 3

What types of video projects can I hire for on Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Common project types include TV and streaming commercials, branded business videos, product launches, social and short-form content, AI-generated or AI-assisted commercials, corporate explainers, nonprofit and impact stories, event coverage, and multi-location shoots. When you post a project, you describe format, audience, references, budget range, and delivery timeline so bidders can scope accurately.

Question 4

Does Mojo Media support AI-generated commercials?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Mojo Media is the go-to marketplace for commercial production, including traditional on-set directors and producers, hybrid teams that combine live action with AI tools, and AI-native creators who deliver TV, social, and branded spots faster and often at leaner budgets. Filter Browse Talent by production style, and state your preference (traditional, hybrid, or AI-native) in the project brief.

Question 5

Should I hire a traditional production company or an AI-native creator?

Accepted Answer

Choose based on goals, timeline, and usage. Traditional crews excel at live talent, locations, complex lighting, and premium on-set craft. AI-native creators excel at rapid iteration, social tests, and cost-efficient concepting. Hybrid teams blend both. Post a clear brief, many clients run AI for speed tests and traditional for hero TV masters.

Question 6

How is Mojo Media different from general freelance marketplaces?

Accepted Answer

General freelance sites optimize for quick gigs and hourly tasks. Mojo Media is purpose-built for commercial production: structured briefs, day-rate and project bids, portfolio reels on creator profiles, in-platform messaging tied to projects, and a curated network spanning traditional production companies and AI-native commercial creators.

Question 7

Is Mojo Media only for large brands and agencies?

Accepted Answer

No. Small business owners, regional marketers, startups, and in-house brand teams use Mojo Media alongside agencies and larger companies. You set the budget on each brief; creators bid within that range. Many clients start with a single spot or social package and scale to larger campaigns as they find trusted production partners.

Question 8

Where does Mojo Media operate?

Accepted Answer

Mojo Media is a global marketplace. Businesses can post projects for any shoot location they specify, and creators list where they are based and where they can travel. You can hire local production companies for on-the-ground crews or remote post-only collaborators depending on the project.

Question 9

How do I hire a director or production company on Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Create a business account, post a project with title, description, budget range, location, timeline, and reference materials, then review bids from interested creators. Compare reels, day rates, cover letters, and messages before accepting a bid. Once you accept a bid, you and the creator align on scope and delivery inside the project workspace.

Question 10

How much does it cost to post a project?

Accepted Answer

Posting a project brief on Mojo Media is free. You only pay when you hire a creator and fund the agreed scope. List a realistic budget range on your brief so production companies can bid accurately, under-budget briefs receive fewer quality bids.

Question 11

What should I include in a video production brief?

Accepted Answer

Strong briefs include the goal of the video, target audience, length and placement (TV, YouTube, social, website), shoot location or remote requirements, style references, script or outline status, deliverables (rough cut, final master, aspect ratios), deadline, and budget range. Attach brand guidelines, storyboards, or example spots when you have them.

Question 12

How do I choose between multiple bids on the same project?

Accepted Answer

Compare each bid's total price, proposed timeline, cover letter, and the creator's portfolio reels and reviews. Message finalists to clarify creative approach, crew size, revision rounds, and what's included in the bid. Mojo Media is designed for side-by-side evaluation, not just picking the lowest number, but the best fit for your brand and schedule.

Question 13

Accepted Answer

A day rate is the creator's typical charge for one production day, shown on their profile as a starting point. Final project bids may include prep, shoot days, travel, equipment, edit, and deliverables bundled into one scoped price. Always confirm what is included before accepting a bid.

Question 15

Can I hire a production company in another city or country?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Post the shoot city or region on your brief and note if remote direction or travel is required. Many creators on Mojo Media regularly shoot outside their home market or partner with local crews. Clarify time zones, permits, and travel costs in messages before you hire.

Question 16

Do I need a finished script before posting a commercial project?

Accepted Answer

Accepted Answer

Open a job that matches your capabilities, review the brief and attachments, then submit a bid with your price, proposed timeline, and any notes on scope. Explain what is included, shoot days, crew, edit, revisions, and deliverables, so the client can compare your bid fairly against others.

Question 21

Can I withdraw a bid after submitting it?

Accepted Answer

Question 22

What is the difference between a company account and a freelancer account?

Accepted Answer

On Mojo Media, businesses post projects and hire talent. Creators, whether solo directors or full production companies, build profiles, browse jobs, submit bids, and deliver work. The creator role covers freelancers and production companies; use your company name on your profile if you bid as a studio.

Question 23

How do I set my day rate?

Accepted Answer

Set a day rate on your profile that reflects your typical on-set or directing day for commercial work in your market. Project bids may be higher or lower than a single day rate depending on prep, crew, post, and usage. Keep your profile rate current so Browse Talent filters remain accurate.

Question 24

Accepted Answer

Platform fee policies are disclosed during signup and in the Terms of use. Build your bids to cover your costs and desired margin; confirm current fee structure in your creator dashboard and terms before quoting clients.

Question 25

Who can post a job on Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Business accounts can post projects with budget, location, creative brief, and supporting files. Posted jobs appear in Browse Jobs for verified creators to discover and bid on. Admin accounts support platform operations but do not post client work.

Question 26

What happens after I accept a bid?

Accepted Answer

Other open bids on the same project are closed out, and messaging continues in the project workspace so you and the creator can align on schedule, deliverables, and assets. Payment steps follow the platform's checkout and milestone flow as enabled on your account.

Question 27

Can multiple creators bid on the same project?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open projects receive bids from multiple creators. The business reviews all submitted bids, messages finalists if needed, and accepts one bid to hire. This competitive but structured process helps clients see options without managing scattered email threads.

Question 28

Can I edit a project after it is posted?

Accepted Answer

Project owners can update details while a job is open, but significant scope changes may require messaging active bidders so they can revise quotes. Major changes late in the process can affect timeline and price, communicate clearly to avoid mismatched expectations.

Question 29

What project statuses will I see in my dashboard?

Accepted Answer

Projects move through statuses such as open (accepting bids), in progress (creator hired and work underway), and completed. Your dashboard shows active postings, hired work, and bid activity so both businesses and creators can track pipeline in one place.

Question 30

Can a creator bid on the same project more than once?

Accepted Answer

Each creator submits one active bid per project. If scope changes materially, withdraw your prior bid if it is still open and submit a revised bid, or message the client to agree on an updated scope before changing numbers.

Question 31

How do payments work on Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Businesses hire creators through Stripe Checkout for the full bid amount. Mojo holds those funds in escrow on the platform. When the client marks the project complete, Mojo releases the payout to the creator’s connected Stripe account, minus a 10% platform fee. Creators must finish Stripe payout onboarding in their talent dashboard before they can be hired.

Question 32

When do I pay as a business client?

Accepted Answer

Question 33

When do creators get paid?

Accepted Answer

After the client marks the project complete, Mojo releases escrow to the creator’s Stripe Connect account (bid amount minus the 10% platform fee). Connect payout timing then follows Stripe’s normal schedule to the creator’s bank.

Question 34

What payment methods are accepted?

Accepted Answer

Card and other methods enabled in Mojo’s Stripe Checkout. Payouts to creators use Stripe Connect Express.

Question 35

Are deposits or escrow used for video projects?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Hire funds are held in escrow until the business marks the project complete and releases payment. Milestone splits are not required for the current single-payment flow; contact support if you need a custom arrangement.

Question 36

How should I budget for a commercial or branded video?

Accepted Answer

Budgets vary by market, crew size, shoot days, talent, locations, animation, AI tooling, and post. Traditional commercial shoots often start in the low thousands per day for lean crews; national spots with full production value can be significantly higher. AI-native or hybrid packages can be faster and leaner for social and iterative tests. Post an honest range on your brief so creators know whether to bid.

Question 37

What does “vetted on Mojo” mean?

Accepted Answer

Featured and marketplace creators are reviewed for profile completeness, portfolio quality, and platform standards before they are highlighted to clients. Verification badges, such as email, phone, identity, or payment verification, help businesses assess trust. Always review reels and messages, not just badges, before you hire.

Question 38

How do reviews and ratings work?

Accepted Answer

After completed work, clients and creators can leave reviews that build a track record on profiles. Ratings help future clients compare reliability and quality. Professional responses to feedback improve your visibility and trust over time.

Question 39

How do I know a creator can deliver commercial-quality work?

Accepted Answer

Review their portfolio reels for pacing, lighting, storytelling, and brand fit similar to your project. Read their cover letter, ask about comparable spots in messages, and confirm deliverables and revision rounds in the bid. Mojo Media gives you structured comparison, reels, rates, and scope, before you commit.

Question 40

Can businesses see my full portfolio before I bid?

Accepted Answer

Your public profile and reels are visible on Browse Talent and on your creator profile page. Clients may view your work before you bid on their job. Keep reels current and lead with the work you want more of.

Question 41

What files can I attach to a project brief?

Accepted Answer

Businesses can upload supporting files to project briefs, scripts, brand guides, storyboards, reference spots, logos, and location notes. Creators should review attachments before bidding so quotes reflect the full scope.

Question 42

How does messaging work on Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Once you are engaged on a project, for example after a bid is submitted or accepted, businesses and creators can message inside the project conversation. Use messages to clarify creative direction, schedules, asset handoffs, and delivery formats instead of relying on scattered email threads.

Question 43

How many revision rounds should I include in a bid?

Accepted Answer

State revision rounds clearly in your bid or cover letter, for example one round of client notes on a rough cut and one on a fine cut. Undefined revision scope is a common source of disputes. Clients should ask if color, graphics, and reshoots are included.

Question 44

What deliverables should a producer specify at hire?

Accepted Answer

Specify formats (16:9, 9:16:30 and :60 cuts), resolution, caption files, raw project files if purchased, music licensing status, and delivery deadline. Creators should confirm what is included in the bid price versus available as add-ons.

Question 45

Can I share large video files through Mojo Media?

Accepted Answer

Use project messaging for links and handoffs as agreed with your production partner. Large masters are often delivered via professional file transfer tools; document the handoff method in messages so both sides know where to upload and download finals.

Question 46

Who owns the finished video?

Accepted Answer

Ownership and usage rights should be agreed in your project contract or statement of work. Many commercial clients expect full brand usage rights upon final payment; creators may retain portfolio rights unless restricted. Confirm IP, talent releases, and music licensing before shoot day.

Question 47

Do I need a separate contract outside the platform?

Accepted Answer

Mojo Media provides the marketplace workflow; many productions still use a production agreement, SOW, or client contract for legal terms, cancellation, and liability. Businesses and creators should use contracts appropriate for their jurisdiction and project size.

Question 48

Who is responsible for music and talent releases?

Accepted Answer

Responsibility should be defined in the bid and contract. Typically the production company clears or licenses music and obtains talent releases as part of deliverables, but low-budget bids may exclude certain rights. Clients should ask explicitly if broadcast-safe music and signed releases are included.

Question 49

Where can I read Mojo Media's Terms of use and Privacy policy?

Accepted Answer

Terms of use and Privacy policy are published on this site and govern platform use, accounts, and data handling. Review them before posting projects or accepting paid work.

Question 50

Can Mojo Media work if my company is not in LA, NYC, or Atlanta?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Most U.S. commercial buyers are outside the handful of film hubs. On Mojo Media you post a structured brief with your real location and budget, then compare scoped bids from directors and producers who can work locally, travel in, or run hybrid remote+local crews. Posting is free; you pay when you hire with Stripe escrow.
